I’ve put together a list of Idol contestants with their celebrity look alikes. Some are quite similar, others not so much. Check ‘em out!
Gina Glocksen and Pink

One part attitude, one part hair color and a little bit of fun all mixed into one.
Haley Scarnato and Nikki Cox aka Mary on NBC’s Las Vegas

Nearly identical twins I tell ya.
Blake Lewis and Adam Levine aka Lead Singer of Maroon5

Maybe it’s the alternative music, or the funky hair, but I see the similarities.
Jordin Sparks and America Ferrera aka Ugly Betty on ABC

Sisters? Separated at birth?
Lakisha Jones and Mandisa from American Idol Season 5

Big women, big voices and tons of talent. Lets hope Lakisha does better than Mandisa did.
Chris Richardson and Justin Timberlake

Even Simon has been saying this since the beginning.
Chris Sligh & Carrot Top

Both funny men with big hair. Who doesn’t see that?
Melinda Doolittle & DW from Arthur

Ok, I kinda see it, but I didn’t come up with this one on my own.
Phil Stacey & Sting

Ok, if you get past the visuals and just listen to Phil sing ‘Every Breath You Take’ you’d swear it was Sting. They sounded exactly the same!
Sanjaya Malakar & Macy Gray

Both a little different, questionable sining abilities and crazy hair. Yet lots of fans. Go figure.
Ok, I’ll admit, some of my look alikes are not perfect, but if you can think of someone better, do let me know. ![]()

The crying girl got quite a bit of TV time on Tuesday night’s show, to much actually with no explanation given. Was she special? There for some good reason? Nope, she’s just a regular fan with lots of tears of joy.
Ashley Ferl is a 13 year old fan that was at ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader’ when she caught the American Idol rehearsal. She cried though all that too and producers pull her out and asked to come to the live show. I guess the more you cry, the more TV time you get. She even got a pair of earrings from Paula Abdul after meeting all the judges.
Don’t think you’ve seen the last of her. The word is she’s now going to hit the talk show circuit. That’s how unbelievably lame Talk Shows are getting.
It just goes to show, Idol can make anyone famous, even if just for 5 minutes.
One of the most interesting things about last nights show was the brief announcement that you can download your favorite Idol’s performance the next day.
All songs are $.99 which isn’t a bad price, but there is no real music store behind it. It seems to be an americanidol.com only thing which leaves me a little skeptical.
Will they work on my iPod? What’s the system requirements? After a little digging I found out that the songs are not Mac friendly and not iPod friendly even though it says at the top of the store that they are. So all my excitement over the downloads are gone and I’m left a bit confused. I guess I’ll have to find other alternative ways of listing to my favorite Blake Lewis songs.
I think for the store to be really successfully, they should have partnered up with iTunes and give everyone a chance to participate. What better way to reach Mac & PC customers, millions of registered users and all iPod owners?? Come on Idol, get with it.
So if you are on Windows and want to download last nights songs, head over to downloads.americanidol.com and shop away.

Ok, I’m not sure if I missed something or if we just weren’t told. Who was this mystery girl that was being shown a lot during American Idol tonight? Was she someone’s kid? An obsessed fan? I’ve heard rumors of a ‘Make a Wish’ foundation wish grant. All I know is she couldn’t stop crying from being overjoyed at being there and I think she got more camera time than most consents. But who was she????
A lot of people talk about American Idol, but they don’t really get their opinions heard by anyone except their friends. Well now you can. Join the discussion over at the VoiceThread American Idol group.
VoiceThread makes it really simple to record your thoughts right from your computer with no fancy equipment. You can discuss Sanjaya’s hair, Lakisha’s voice or Chris’ comedy. There is even a comment over there that Melidnda’s personality might be an act. ACK!!
So head on over and voice your opinions or start your own Idol fan group.

Brandon Rogers was the latest to leave idol and it’s not because he’s a bad singer, but because he forgot some of the words. Of course, on the flip side, Haley Scarnato forgot her words too, but she really made you feel as if she felt bad about it. Brandon was just kinda like, yea my bad where as Haley started to cry and felt down right awful. It goes to show that if you forget your words, make sure the public knows that you are sorry.
The bottom three were Brandon Rogers, Sanjaya Malakar and Phil Stacey. No big surprises but, thanks to some people that vote for the worst, Sanjaya is still in it. One of these weeks, I’m going to be so happy as he won’t last much longer.
So which genre week is next on the list?

I’ve been meaning to rant about the 16year olds making it on Idol and how they shouldn’t be allowed and I still may. However, Jordan Sparks (now 17) lit up the stage last night showing that she was just as good as Lakisha and Melinda.
She’s got the look, the likability and now the power voice is showing though. This puts her with a slight advantage over Lakisha and Melinda because, lets face it, America is a bit of a judgmental society and I think they’d pick a teeney bopper overall. Heck, Sanjaya is still in there and his talent ran out shows ago.
Speaking of Sanjaya, he looked more like a girl then ever. With the hair and the ear rings, come on man, you are a boy!
For a full re-cap of the top 12, check out Undeniably Good or World Wide Rant as they seem to have play by plays. I know who I want to go home tonight (still Sanjaya), but they probably wont. Who do you think should go?

The part part of Idol Season 6 has to be Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Jones. Three distinct performers that have talent far beyond the other contestants.
Blake Lewis - All Mixed Up
You know your good when the judges don’t understand the song and they still love you.
Melinda Doolittle - I’m a Woman
Damn woman, you got skillz!
Lakisha Jones - You’re Gonna Love Me
When you hit a grand slam so early in the competition, you know you are already a superstar!
These three are the three I look forward to each week as they continually outshine the other Idol hopefuls.
