I don’t know about you, but two hours of American Idol, two nights a week, is just to much. Plus then an hour long results show on top of that. I just couldn’t do it.

Tonight though shows get back to one hour. Granted, it’s still three hours a week we have to give up to watch the show, it’s better than five.

I love you American Idol, but I can’t waste my life away sitting in front of the TV.

Group week on American Idol is my favorite. It really shows us what people are made of.

It’s easy to stand in front of your family and friends and sing, not to hard to stand in front of four judges, but working with strangers, now that’s hard.

It quickly weeds out those that just aren’t mentally ready, those that can’t handle the pressure, and shows you the true personality of each contestant. Some come though with flying colors while others bitch & moan, cry, breakdown, quit, or you see them  in a whole new light.

American Idol is a singing competition, but your personality also plays a big factor.

Judging from what we saw this week, people like Mary Powers may have just shot themselves in the foot.

This has to be one of the best original songs we’ve ever heard on American Idol.

From Larry Platt comes “Pants On The Ground.”

Here are the lyrics if you want to sing along.

Pants on the ground
Pants on the ground
Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground

With the gold in your mouth
Hat turned sideways
Pants hit the ground
Call yourself a cool cat
Lookin’ like a fool
Walkin’ downtown with your pants on the ground

Get it up, hey!
Get your pants off the ground
Lookin’ like a fool
Walkin’ talkin’ with your pants on the ground.

Get it up, hey!
Get your pants off the ground
Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground

(Repeat second verse)

Simon stops him at this point… too bad.

Last year was Paula Abdouls last year and this year is Simon Cowells last season.

Will American Idol be able to continue to dominate? Or is this the beginning of the end for the most popular show on TV?

What do you think? Do you care if American Idol has Simon or not?

American Idol knew it before he even got on TV. Adam Lambert had extended play on the show and it paid off. Paula said he was one of the best they’d ever seen, Simon said he was theatrical, but all four judges gave him a yes.

The best part about this video is you can see Adam’s true personality. He’s friendly, confident (but not cocky) and seems like an all around nice guy.

When Kris Allen firs auditioned, he said there were probably better singers (Adam Lambert?) out there than him. And when he sang his song, Simon, Randy and Kara all gave mediocre feedback. But they gave him a chance.

It just goes to prove that you have to listen to the negative feedback, learn and grow.

The new season of American Idol kicks off in just days, but are more people excited about the new season or Ellen DeGeneres?

It seems every time you turn on FOX anymore, they are promoting the new season of American Idol. However, across the internet it’s all about Ellen.

So what are you more excited for?

My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson!

This monster hit, created by pop Frankensteins Max Martin and Dr. Luke, has rhythm and melody lines ripped indiscriminately from all their other hits and lyrical inspiration courtesy of a high schooler’s Facebook wall. (“I know that I’ve got issues/ But you’re pretty messed up too.”) Where a lesser singer might have tried to animate the parts with a vocal lightning storm, Kelly Clarkson sings the words with her signature ease, building to an emotional crescendo that’s pointless to resist. Nearly a decade after her journey from waitress to American Idol, Clarkson’s lack of pretension remains her greatest asset. -Time.com

Congrats Kelly Clarkson for the #1 song in 2009!!!!

Also, at #10 is “Mad World” by Adam Lambert.

“Talent is a trend,” goes the old record-company proverb, and Adam Lambert proved it repeatedly on the reality talent show that no one remembers he didn’t win. In particular, Lambert’s performance of this slowly building Tears for Fears track shows off his ability to interpret a song and create dramatic tension — a lost art in pop music. It also helps that he holds his notes with remarkable clarity and has such obvious vocal star power that America couldn’t help but make him the … well, whatever. -Time.com

Not to shabby for a new artist who didn’t even win Idol.

Man this song will get stuck in your head. Adam Lambert’s first single ‘For Your Entertainment’ is a sweet song that you’ll be singing all day!

As for the video, it’s a little bit strange but completely Adam.
