David Archuleta17 year old David Archuleta is heating up American Idol. In only the second week of the top 24 the crowd is going wild. Girls screaming, fans on their feet and judges calling him brilliant.

So what is it about David that makes him so special?

  1. Age - Being only 17, David has that young look that the girls love so much.
  2. Modesty - He doesn’t take any of this for granted and is often surprised when he gets good reviews or hears the girls screaming with excitement.
  3. Talent - Best of all, he can sing far better that most everyone else on American Idol this season.

Even at 11, when David met up with season 1 finalist Kelly Clarkson, she was shocked at how well he could sing. I wonder if she still remembers him.

So, does David have this in the bag? It’s a bit early to say, but he is by far one of the best this season so far!
