!!! 2009 Audition Information !!!
A lot of people have been asking about the 2009 American Idol auditions and it’s just to early.
Usually audition cities and dates get announced after the previous season. And, since the 2008 season hasn’t even started yet, the info for 2009 auditions hasn’t been released.
Work on your voice, do some performances in front of the public and continue to refine your technique. Then, when the auditions do come around, you’ll be ready.

You don’t have to be an American Citizen. You just have to have legal documentation that proves that you are a resident or Citizen of the United States. In other words a Visa would be required, A residential card, A passport, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and Two state I.D…. I went last year.

Umm, no Jay Daddy thats not true. I have a green card for residency in the U.S. That does not make me a citizen, just a permanent resident.
um, thus AMERICAN idol.
If that is the case then how come Danny Gokey is 28 and there were people in their 30’s trying out as well.

They go all over. Atleast where there is a stadium big enough to hold thousands. It will be posted when auditions post.
You may have to wait a long time in line. It is a four day process and Thousands show up. Yes at age of 17 you will have to have a parent present or a peer that have written parental consent with signature for proof. Your better off bringing your parent in case they may need further information.

You guys can go online and research it. You just type in American Idol and see where it was held every year, or you can wait for when it is posted online. Everyone’s probably wondering why am I helping with info? I just tend to, it’s a part of who I am and I am unable to change that. Of course it always comes back to kick me in my buttocks.
You dont need a parent if your older than 18 and you can only bring one friend. it’s a rough little tryout. it’s all for entertainment you can completely suck or you can be decently good and it’s alll about if they think it’ll get their viewers to watch it i tried out for american idol this year and had watch some of the people they cut that shouldnt had been cut (they were amazing!!!) and they let people go through to the next round that sucked! it’s all about what will make their show good! soooo good luck!

I was there to last year, I had great talent, They said that, and then they said I wasn’t what they were looking for. They denied the excellent strong vocalists and kept the weak to make it seem more interesting. I don’t get it. It makes it more interesting when you maitain all that are terrific.
but then again what do anyone no. To them we are amatures.
I’m hoping they change it this upcoming year.

Ya no not totally true look at Kris Allen he made it through and what is his story……… exactly he doesn’t have one. Neither did Jordin Sparks, daughtry, carrie underwood, & kelly clarkson. That is just an excuse for the ppl that aren’t that good and need “some reason” that the supposdly didn’t make it! Just Sayin!!!! luv you stilll i didn’t mean to call you out.

i think that when you go to auditions you have to be good< and if people love you they would tell you if you sucked or not. people who do suck shouldnt come and audition because they don’t have a CHANCE!!! i think simon is one of the better judges because he tells people the truth and thats what they need to hear because this competition is about winning not sucking!!! thanks for reading my lovely comment.:)

good come back:) and ya seriously that’s so rude to put people down like that. I mean what if they were good and then read your comment and started to think they weren’t so they decided not to try and give up on there dream. you really should think before you talk.
No one will see Simon on those four days of Auditions unless you made the finals. They have a staff who pick and choose. Somehow this year may be like last years where they pick the weak then the ones with great voices. The ones that sucks reallly bad don’t make it at all. This years show sucked compared to the extreme talent they turned away. I was there to see that. When they told me what they told me I held my head high, Didn’t Cry infront of them, and have not quit at Singing. They didn’t even tell me anything bad about my voice. They said I had a great and beatiful voice. That was a good complement. I atleast was okay with that but was pissed I spent so much money to get there and to pay for hotel room plus transportation to the set.
You can be older than 27, on of the girls is 28 on idol!

Why the max’ age stipulation of 27?
I am a Chronologically Gifted, Seasoned Citizen and am two months younger than singer, Tony Bennett, an American Icon & Idol, who’s still going strong.
I was a boy-soprano during the Great Depression, have sung all of my life in gleeclubs, choruses and barbershop quartets and I, too, am still going strong!
I’m in my fourth childhood, so 82 divided by 4 = 20 1/2 and I’ll give these young, so-called singers a run for their money!
Or, how about a Tony Bennett Tribute season for OCTOGENARIANS and OLDER – ICON contestants?

Yes of course you are the Devil Dev Leahy hopefully you don’t cry if they were to say no to you. I am 21 yrs. old and excelolent in math as well, and I’ll tell you you can be a Genius and still feel like a failure when they tell you, your not what they are looking for this year. I’m not sying you won’t be picked. Just saying keep your confidence and like I did so it wouldn’t hurt so much. Keep your gaurd up when they tell you their answer in case it is a polite no. After Watching excellent singers infront of me in line get denied, my guard went up and I said F it. I went up sanged, heard what they had to say, didn’t say a word back and left. I wasn’t going to bicker at them to make the town I am in look bad especially when I overheard an officer talking bad about it to two other girls he also thought were from the same town as me when they were actually from Jacksonville, his town. Yes Jacksonville made themselves look bad with the drama and the officer felt stupid in the end for sysing what he stated which jinksed him. Karma came back to him quick. I laughed inside.

You need to do it now before it is to late. You don’t want to keep thinking to yourself If you had gone would you have made it. No one ever wants to have that in their minds forever. Me, I am not a quiter, I keep on trying. I do it because it’s my abition and it grows with me. Everything I love to do is like my life. I will try until I die thats How bad I want my dreams and to succeed in my dreams or it isn’t worth living life at all If I don’t have it or ever get it. For me it is like a life or death thing inside. I truely want all of my dream to come true and I won’t stop trying. I am not like everyone.

Oh, people, Josh Myers is definitely going to be the person to remember in next season. Do you know why? Because he’s going to be the one to win! LOL! anyway, I don’t know if I’m really good enough to win, to be honest, but it’s the judges standards that count the most, right? So, don’t put yourselves down so early, people!

No, I’m sure they would allow you to audition.
They may let you audition, but as in previous years, you must be at least 16 years of age to go on to the next round in American Idol

Goodluck this year everyone. I would love to win, but I will not have my hopes hopes up and still my heart will be sheilded just in case I hear a No. I am confident and always will be, but I won’t let them try to tare my heart into pieces in the end. I will always keep trying. I only let the guard down when I sing and when I stop the guard rises.

So, to those of you who’ve auditioned before:
Are there limitations as to what you can and cannot use as an audition piece? I’m just unsure if they’d let you use anything you wanted for copyright reasons… and also, how many auditions pieces do they require? ….just curious…. I’m trying to talk myself into going this year, lol…. thanks!
i would go with more than one song in mind (just in case) dont use swear words. other than that there should not be an issue. its public tv thats why there are no cuss words allowed. i mean you can but it would look bad, they would bleep u, and you would have an american idol logo on your mouth lol. pick something that showcases your talent
what if you’re turning 16 this year but your birthday is after the audition date or your birthday is right before the audition date?
ive heard they have given some leeway in the passed. no fake. they might let you. gotta ask around.
Don’t get to antsy gang. I’m sure the cities and dates will be posted in time for all to prepare and prepare u need to be!! I took my 16 year old daughter last year for auditions in Louisville, wow how exhausting! Don’t believe the NO early line ups nor NO camping out because they do indeed do it! We spent 12 hours in line at 90+ degree temps just to get a wrist band n number. Then u r given a packett that contains 2 songs to learn. Auditioners AND who accimpies u. It’s only for the televised opening of the show so don’t stress!! Make sure u download n print all forms n fully have them signed n noterized if under 18. Song choice for round 1 is your choice!! No copyright rules on that! Don’t stand in line n sing all night like most do. Save ur chords for the producers!!! There’s alot of cameras around n lots of radio stations interviewing and remember be on alert at ALL times!! Producers walk the crowd without u knowing n scout out too!! Take in the expireance it is fun, u learn alot you make great friends and u will be wore out!! Get ur motel set up early!!! Like month in advanced because it’s hard to find a room!!! Don’t get sad if ur dismissed!! Ud be amazed at what talent they turn away! It’s not personal it’s just the luck of the draw! As I said I’ve been there, done it AND will be back! Soooo, I live in E. Iowa. Judging from where they have been auditioning from past seasons I would assume I would have to take a 5 hour drive to get to an audition city (Like Omaha or Kansas City for example)
And the question still remains that everyone has been asking; When are the 2009 audition dates?!
